HSITAG is excited to present this short video featuring HHS leaders from Rhode Island, West Virginia, and Virginia talking about their agency’s response to COVID-19 and how technology played a significant role in meeting the challenges brought on by the pandemic.

Hear Courtney Hawkins, Rhode Island Department of Human Services Director talk about how quickly her agency was able to respond within weeks to establish a remote workforce while implementing a number of policy changes to get aid to people who were in need.  And listen to Cindy Beane, Commissioner of West Virginia’s Bureau for Medical Services describe how they leveraged technology to handle a “whole new level of busy.”  Finally, both the Chief Information Security Officer, Glenn Schmitz, and Chief Information Officer, Robert Hobbelman, for the Virginia Department of Behavioral Health and Developmental Services, share their quick pivot to telehealth and remote care.
