The Human Services IT Advisory Group (HSITAG) has formed as a new independent nonprofit trade association to facilitate growth and new opportunities for its member companies.
“It has never been more important to help government improve the delivery of human services,” said HSITAG Chair Jacqueline Gombach. “We are pleased to start this new chapter in our long and successful history of supporting public sector programs. This move will allow us to stay true to our mission while giving the organization flexibility to grow a more diverse and inclusive membership.”
The 27-year-old organization, which helps the technology industry share knowledge and collaborate on the delivery of human services programs within government, was most recently associated with another trade association.
The HSITAG Executive Council unanimously approved the decision to form a new 501 ( c ) (6) nonprofit trade association. A membership program is being unveiled to create a smooth transition to the new organization with a modern infrastructure and professional staff, led by industry veteran Jennifer Saha.
“I look forward to helping this new organization connect industry and government in new and innovative ways,” said Saha, who has been appointed to serve as the group’s first executive director. “I am honored to work with professionals committed to modernizing government and serving people.”
The group will continue hosting its regular meetings, including the next Council Meeting on October 22 at 12pm ET.
